MTH feels it does. I believe you see less errors when using DC power. Maybe a little quicker, but only seconds, unless the program keeps trying to write at the slowest speed. Then you save a minute or two. G

Just to be clear... you mean DC through the TIU Channels, right?
I will be putting it on the shelf for display now and devote my time to other projects. If anyone has a set of boards they would sell me I will gladly purchase them so I can get this thing running again.
If this really happened after loading the chain files, I'd send them back to MTH and explain what happened. They have all the equipment to take them back to "factory fresh" and insure they'll work.

Charly, Yes. You want a filtered DC transformer and use it as input to Fixed 1. Output to test track or Test fixture for loading. G

If he gets and RA from MTH he incurs a minimum $45 labor charge plus shipping and a 2-3 month back log. Since every thing works but speed control, we can be looking at a simple repair/replacement to the daughter board, or reload. Have not seen anything stated to lead me to believe he has a scrambled board.
Either way I can tell him what is wrong, or fix it in 1-2 days. I certainly won't tell some one how to spend there money though. But I can tell him it won't cost him as much as if he sends it into MTH, let alone the delay. G
