When I create a new posting here, I get doubled spaced lines.

Like now, I hit return at the end of the above line and I get two carriage returns instead of one.

How can I turn this off?

Thank you!

That's the default behavior.

Personally, I like it - it makes reading a bit easier.

If you want to have single line break - you have to use the "Shift + Enter" keystroke.
That will space it like this - which is useful, sometimes.

Then you must be hitting your "enter return" key. That's what causes the double space. If you just keep typing, like this, there is no double space.

I find on a PC, by the time you get to the carriage return - that's just too long a string of text

Thats why I prefer to use more breaks to make shorter strings - like a paperback book.

Easier to read.

You should NOT attempt to put your own line breaks into a post. Just type a full paragraph, then hit the ENTER key to start a new paragraph.

If you attempt to put your own line breaks in, then

things like this happen that make your post look

awful.

Just type your text into the posting window, only using the ENTER key to separate paragraphs. Let the forum software format the lines within the paragraph.
