George Lasley completed the repainting and weathering of the two Lionel VL PRR CC2s 0-8-8-0 locomotives today into N&W X2 0-8-8-0 engines 995 and 996. These shots show them passing Roanoke en route back to the Old King Coal Mining Company at William, WV where they operate double-headed as the regular heavy switch service on the tail track that ends at Dead Possum Poin, pulling and shoving cuts of coal hoppers on the mine's ladder tracks.
My favorite is the trackside perspective looking up at the pilot of the lead unit.
Happy Thanksgiving!
