I would like to have a dialog [off-line] with an electrical engineer who has knowledge and/or experience in the special area of DC main generators and DC traction motors that are part of 'older' diesel-electric locomotives. I'd like to discuss any or all issues related to things like: magnetic field excitation [self- or external-], lap & wave windings, commutators & brushes, series-wound, shunt, and compound field windings, etc.
