Yeah, a few things. I could always buy them again if I REALLY want to though
Absolutely not! Seems like I have hoarded to much HO and now cannot sell it?!
Nope, can't say that I have because to date everything I've ever purchased I still own. Now, on the other hand please don't ask me how many possible great purchases I've passed up 'cause they are too numerous to count.
Are you missing one of the SD50s already?
Nope, I've never regreted selling anything. As my interests in the hobby have changed (from postwar to modern semi-scale to modern scale) I have had no qualms about selling stuff to help finance other purchases. Given the power of the internet, unless an item is super rare or unique, it can usually be replaced if need be.
Next thing to sell will be a set of K-Line F3's w/15" aluminum passenger cars and a Weaver RPO. Will take the money and use it as a down payment on a set of GGD aluminum passenger cars.

Yeah - Scott's got my MTH C&O 2-10-4 Texan.....
Not really.
This hobby lends itself to purchases that outstrip available layout space and the ebb and flow of inventory is just a part of it. We're moving in a few months and after years of hoarding I'm preparing to alleviate some purchasing mistakes that I just haven't run.
That said I'll have a larger layout. I might need to buy some things back come the fall. Heh.
Best,
Jim
Yes a few in HO which were necessary. However the future is bright in O.
Lots of sales I regret. The last year has been tough financially and I was out of work, so I had no choice...now I'm back to work, but spending A LOT less than I used to.

Same here- esp with those Lionel 50' double door boxcars!
My nyc 8477 from 1984. The coupliers wouldn't stay closed, the horn self-destucted, and it wouldn't go thru a 022 switch without stalling. I really liked the and will buy one of the TMCC versions in the future.

The only regrets I have are for the things I didn't do.

The 8477 is dirt cheap now. I'm surprised you had so much trouble with it.

Me too when it comes to trains. EXCEPT, I did sell a Williams Beep at a garage sale. I was embarrassed to own that thing.
A couple of cars(72 Charger 340 4 speed and a 73 Mustang), several outboards, and my '54 FeatherCraft Vagabond are my sell regrets.
Yes, either I simply re-purchased the item or a few days would pass and I'd stop thinking about it to focus my attention on something else that was bothering me.
I've made a few purchases that after awhile, when I realized that a Williams (pre BACHMANN) wasn't really what I wanted I was able to find a new home for that locomotive. Lesson learned.

Yea , One Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail. My wife and I both shed a tear on that one but after an operation on my chest it hurt me to much to be able to ride it .
It's no fun getting old.
David
Nope. Never look back on that and I can't change the past.
OTOH, I do have regrets over a long list of things that I did not buy.....
I did sell my MPC PRR F-3's 8970-71. I eventually replaced them AND purchased the hard-to-find "B" unit, as well. I always liked the darker color and decided to get them back.

Got one in the basement. Model 400 too.

Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you've got 'til its gone
They paved paradise
And put up a 4 x 8
Nothing train wise....
Abolutely yes, most regret over selling a very early Lionel 463W set from 1945 with the early swirly wheels. I did however sell it for 50% more than I paid for it.
Tom
When I first got into the hobby a friend of a friend told me to only collect Lionel as Louis Marx trains were garbage. Believing this to be the case I gave him my old Marx catalogs and said "here you take them". He did.
Now I wish that I had them back as I still have many Marx accessories that were once on my childhood layout. I've also come to appreciate Marx trains as an important part of model railroading history.

I bought it from you on EBAY. It's a great engine. Here it is running on the NJ HiRailers layout. How badly do you want to buy it back?
