New Haven Alco PA cab units #0770 and #0767 (models by MTH) are pulling a short passenger train around the south curve of my 12’-by-8’ layout. The locomotives are painted in their 1948 as-delivered warm-orange and green paint scheme with silver-gray pinstripes as used on the New Haven’s first 10 Alco PAs. Note the Alco diesel engine sounds on the video.

Good morning, cab unit fans!  Arnold, I wish I had Fenway Park on my layout to run trains around; I don’t, so I’ll show a train heading out of Boston instead.

That train is the B&M “Minuteman”, headed North to Portland, ME.  It’s headed up by B&M’s only EMD E8, no. 3821.  The train today is made up of a heavyweight baggage car, a combine, three coaches, a dining car and a solarium car.  That is a typical consist for the Boston-Portland run.

John, the Redsox should be formidable this year. Arnold

K-Line PRR F-3's passing the North Main Street Station for another F-3 Friday...

Those are really nice aren't they Paul? I have a ABBA set but haven't run them in years. Great detail especially with the roof antennas. Both B units smoke as well - what a sight!  Did you mount the scale pilot and coupler to the front?

Well I am going out on a limb today, here is a "cab unit" from Japan it's the so called "bullet train".  I have ridden these in Japan and they are as cool as they look.  Super fast, quiet, comfortable with super service and great food and drinks.  Why oh Why can't we have something like this in the US?  I hope I don't make anyone angry but I am just about out of "F's" and "Alco's"

Bullet train front

Clearly just the forward control car but the last picture is from the box and shows the whole train.

Sam, the two K-lines F-3's on my layout were the initial buys in the hobby...great engines and sound systems.  They also have capacitors rather than batteries.  Both engines started right up after being in the box for years...just lubed them and off they went!

i haven't mounted the scale couplers on the front yet, but sounds like a good project...thanks for mentioning...
