That is the ex-ARR 1514. Supposedly the last FP-7 ever built.
What is that doing in the Yard? Time to call for track!
Hey there was just a guy on the Detroit CL seeking partners in a small diesel locomotive rebuilding operation.
Free Shipping to lower 48.
Looks like something out of "Shipping Wars" to me.
Be a fine locomotive once you replace everything from the ground up.

To rebuild what? This is just an empty car body. There's nothing in it.
It's not worth the acetylene it would take to cut it up. If the owner wants it out of his yard, he's going to have to pay someone to do it.
I love trains but waking up to that ugly Betty every morning I would have to get rid of it... notice the new house behind it, probably ruining the view for some folk.
I think I would just call the guys over, sand blast it and paint it in my favorite RR colors...
Looks like it's missing some pieces right out of the box. Better send it back to the mfg. Is it still under warranty?
I bet someone would buy it at York. If you could get it there.
Rick
I'd take it, if it still had trucks. My dummies have to have trucks.
I suggest leaving where it is, but maybe add a large cardboard box around it, and a huge table over the top. That would at least get the York guys excited............
Great example of how "Free" can be overpriced...
That looks like something a few members of our society CNYNRHS would suggest we obtain and restore for display. Because of that, I am SOGLAD it is in Alaska!!
wished it was by me..I would love to restore the shell...put some trucks on it and make it into a living quarters..make a great yard piece when redone wright..33+ years in autobody and paint..I can paint anything..
I would love to have that in the yard and turn it into a guest cottage or maybe even a man cave
That will buff right out....

LOL... I would be afraid to lean on it.
It would be easier to plant some evergreens to screen the view!

Well, whats left of that old covered wagon looks pretty much like a garden trellis so they should go plant all around that with a good climbing vine
species, trim as necessary and it will become a really neat "green" locomotive shaped plant,Gman.

If you were to sandblast that thing, you would end up with a body shell full of holes and a large pile of rust.
Put it put of its misery...cut it up or crush it.
