Tom I have that picture hanging in my locker at work
What can I say, we both have great taste!
I noticed in your photo, looks like there is a brand new knuckle on the coupler.

Here is my K-Line 2-truck Shay. It has been on display for maybe 14 years waiting for a layout to run on

You are probably right. My books state they were built in 1944-45, with service started before the war ended. However, I don't have data on when the last one was built. Do you have that date? I'd like to add it to my spreadsheet. Thanks.
according to my copy of Pennsy Q Class Classic Power 5, Q2 6196,6197,6198,and 6199 were the last ones built, in June of '45.

Well Hirsimaki's "Black Gold-Black Diamonds" Vol 1 quantifies build date as 6/43-4/45. That would be pre VE Day.

Dave,
That looks like a good book to get if I want to talk about my Q2s to quests. Thanks.
Good to see those WP&YR engines once again.

The photo of this small 2-8-2 was taken at Strasburg. Needs some work.
Now 475, their 4-8-0, looks pretty good.
This is the first 4-8-0 I've heard of let alone seen. I don't think they are too common.

First picture is in Xenia, Ohio, and the tracks & viaduct are long gone(like decades gone, never mind the steamer). I remember watching trains with my Dad at the Xenia station, but that was years ago, and there were tracks. I remember the viaduct being closed off to traffic and never going over it.
The next set of pictures were in Fairborn, Ohio on a snowy day...
