Thanks Don! I love Ives trains and the Ives story. I would be glad to share some photos, but I think this wouldn’t fit the criteria for the Front End Friday theme here. But I will show the trains that are on the shelves that the Ives train that I originally posted is on. The top is Lionel 260E. Next shelf is Ives 1122. The third shelf is a Bing 4-4-0. The fourth shelf is the Ives 3238 Motor I originally posted. The bottom shelf is the Ives 20 locomotive and some freight cars.
My photos and video for this Friday show front-end views of two Long Island Rail Road passenger trains and locomotives. LIRR #18 is a Lionel Legacy model (2131420, $649.99) of a Camelback 4-6-0 Ten-Wheeler steamer and LIRR #462 is a special run MTH Railking model (30-20894-1, $399.95) of an Alco RS-1 diesel by forum sponsor Trainworld.
#18 was built by Baldwin in 1903 and retired by 1931. #462 arrived on the LIRR in 1949 and was scrapped in 1977. So, although these locomotives never operated together on the LIRR, there’s no reason not to run both of them on a front-end Friday…
On my layout, #18 is pulling two elegant MTH wood-sided passenger cars and #462 is pulling three heavyweight steel passenger cars – also by MTH.
On the LIRR, #18 hauled high-speed Limiteds from Jamaica to the Hamptons on Eastern Long Island that were run by the most senior engineers. In 1924, the LIRR honored engineer James Eichhorn by painting his name on the cab of locomotive #18, as seen on Lionel’s model. By contrast, LIRR #462 worked as a switcher at Sunnyside Yard in Queens, NY, where my father used to take me to watch trains when I was a youngster.
The video shows the trains running through the double-tracked truss bridge on my 12’-by-8’ layout.

Thanks for starting off this FEF MELGAR.
I have a new acquisition too show here. I picked this engine up on the bay at an extremely reasonable price knowing the the PS2 was not working. I thought I could run it in conventional mode; but not so. I reached out to my friend Rem, The Train Doctor. Rem was able to bring the engine back to life. I have always admired this engine and am very happy that I found one I could afford. Here is my IVES by MTH 1694 electric. I am running it with 3 original IVES passenger cars 1695 - 1697.

MTH scale GG1. I have only three motors for my late 1940s layout's era, this GG1 and my P5a pair. They don't get on the layout that often since I don't have catenary. Would be nice if pre-built catenary was available for sale like in all the other scales, either power or non-powered. I have too many other projects that need to be finished, so no time to build my own.

Here's a view of the front ends that I had running on my display layout at the local TCA chapter's train show in Connecticut last Sunday. The little Pennsy 2-8-0 is a Protosounds 3.0 starter set that we let all the kids (and some of the adults!) run with a tablet. The custom built McKeen car is the same one, recently repaired, that I wrote an article about last week.
It's a simple no-frills setup but it does the job well. Lots of folks have been introduced to the hobby this way!

Very nice Ron, I have to run with the pans down because of the bridges.
Have a good weekend Front End Friday fans

@pennsyfan- Bob, really like that MTH Ives loco, great find and glad you were able to get it working
@leapinlarry- Larry the turntable video's are really neat, they show such great realism and action.
Well since @OddIsHeRU- showed us an F 59 in Metrolink colors I thought I would post my F59 in its Amtrack colors. I used to see these go flying past while working at a company location near San Diego. They were Big and Fast that is for sure.
Hope your weekend goes well. I am off to a train show tomorrow, one of only about 2 we have locally before New Years so I might have more to post next week, who knows

Lol! I just might tag that on one of my subway cars, coach.

I pre-date the 7 Line Army (I am a legally qualified long suffering Met Fan - as kids, my parents took my brother and I to some of the games they played at the Polo Grounds) and, in general, I don’t care for graffiti on cars… I spent too much time in the 70’s & 80’s riding tagged trains!!! Now THIS is my idea of an appropriate Met’s car.

They better win tonight!
My front-end views for this Friday have New Haven Railroad Alco PAs #0770 and #0767 heading up a passenger train of heavyweight cars including “Westward Ho,” “Great Republic,” and “Flying Cloud” – all MTH products. The engines were delivered to the New Haven in 1948 and the models are running on my 12’-by-8’ layout.
