Well F.E.F folks, it's the Leonardtown and Savannah equivalent of the great NYC vs PRR (21st Century Limited vs Broadway Limited) race out of Chicago in the  30's.  This is the mighty 262E pulling its 1933 passenger consist (in my world) heading for the main and Atlanta vs the hard working 249E and its symbol freight heading south out of Small Town for the port of Savannah.  Happy F.E.F to everyone.

Southbound Tri-Rail GP49 #812 at the Metrorail/Tri-Rail Transfer Station as viewed from the elevated Metrorail platform looking north this past Monday evening.  FYI, the Miami Amtrak station is the cream colored building in the distance in the upper right of the photo.  Neither of the Silvers from the north are scheduled to arrive yet.

Happy F.E.F everyone.  Since my Leonardtown and Savannah would have no credible reason to host a B.A.R GP locomotive I will have to image that somehow, its operating with the State of Maine Boxcar on ASJB18's post and working with that B.A.R GP in BAR GP7 #63 's post.  So here is the Jeremiah O'Brien getting ready for his day's work.

OK OK - I know its only late Thursday, but I have to work late tomorrow so I am "jumping the gun!"  Here is (a little worse for wear) a likely (per Greenberg) 1926-1927 Lionel 152 pulling its little train from outfit # 290 of 1926-27.  It is a 901 gondola ("Lake Shore") and a 801 Caboose ("Wabash").  Wish I had a bulb for the headlight would look better, then again, I hope I look this good and am still moving at age 94.

So we start a little early.  Should be fun.

I took several photos of my Freedom Train next to my growing Friendship Train for the weekend photos topic, some of them perfect for FEF.

The Pennsy did in fact use a Centipede AA to pull the Friendship Train consist that went through Pennsylvania.  It and the Freedom Train were both in Harrisburg, PA, at the same time in late November 1947 and parked side-by-side just like this.  Unfortunately I don't have hundreds of standing figures to simulate the crowd that surrounded the trains at the real event.  Both the PA and Centipede are Lionel.

As a side note, the Freedom Train went to all 48 states (this is 1947) pulled by that PA, making that engine the only known engine to touch each state.
