G: LGB loco repair help needed

Might be an issue with the wheels not being aligned on the gears, not necessarily a bent axle.  Did this problem develop recently.

No, it's been a problem for awhile, and I just put off repairing it. I did check the gears for play on the axles and everything seemed tight.

Is this marklin production?  I know they have had qc problems with some motor blocks, albeit not this style.  Do you know anyone who can repair lgb?  Certainly qc issues are ongoing with new lgb products today.  It's always a good idea to have someone who can repair them or get new parts.

 That looks like the axle is out of quarter rather than bent? Disconnect the side arm linkage and see if it runs smoother.

This is LGB production.  I did check the quartering and it looked right, but I didn't check it while it it was running. I'll give that a try. If I can't get it fixed myself, then I'll send it off. 

 

 

Try to move ONE of the powered axles a tooth fore or aft, in the gearbox, to synch it with the other axle. I fixed one of my 0-6-0 LGB locos this way...
