How do you define affordable??? Sunset/3rd Rail imported one a few years ago in 2 and 3 rail versions I see them on Ebay from time to time. They can often be purchased for around $300.00. The old NJ Custom Brass 44 tonners usually go cheap too, but are only available in 2 rail versions.

I had two 2R versions of Sunsets; nice but I am not a fan of the belt drive. I sold them and purchased Yoder's s-12.
Rich Yoder may run another set and I would purchase one of them.
In 3R I think you may wait a while for this to show....
Josh:
Bachmann offers models of the GE 70 tonner in both N and HO scale. I believe the best bet for an O scale version of this locomotive lies with Bachmann. I'd suggest going to www.bachmanntrains.com and starting a thread with your request in the Williams Forum. Company representatives answer inquiries from posters on a regular basis.
Good luck,

A nice scheme for a potential O scale 70 tonner:

The Rahway Valley was a New Jersey shortline running from Cranfors and Roselle Park to Summit.
A nice thing about small units such as the 44 and 70 tonners is that they were owned by many railroads and subsequently sported a wide variety of liveries.
