Or at least my attempt at modeling it:

top notch modeling.
It looks just great.
I thought it was the real thing.
Looks real to me, except for the catenary. Maybe he photo-shopped it out.
John:
STUNNING!
Pete
That looks great.
Pure Pennsy by one of the best! Exceptional John!
Bob
Beautiful modeling. Love the retaining wall and the iron fence.

That is awesome John.
Really, really, really well done. I thought it was real.
What kind of lighting? Shot outdoors????
I'm still having a hard time believing it isn't real. Great modeling.
Incredible
I'm with those that say it looks real.
Great job!
I had to look twice. Great job on the photos.
Incredible work John. I agree, it's hard to tell between your photo and the prototype.
Like that ivy on the wall, John.
Like that imaginary overhead wire, too.
WOW! My first thought was.....What a great picture for being 50 years old. Then it dawned on me that this was your layout. Unbelievable!!
Great looking stuff there. If I look closely, I can see some blood, sweat and tears.

David Clayton-Thomas helped him do the trees.....
Outstanding work John!
It begs the question: what is the link to modeling a scene from New Jersey by a guy from Virginia?
An A+
Thanks everyone for the encouragement and kind words. I had a long day today, and this made up for it.
A bit more information: I developed a method to make proper height O scale trees (about 7-10” high), and made 40 or so for another section of the layout. I needed a place to temporarily park them, and this seems like a good spot. The layout is lit with 5000 K Compact Fluorescents bulbs. The only photo- shopping is in the upper right corner, where I eliminated the joint between the ceiling and wall.
I am pretty happy with the catenary as it is. A real one will go in as soon as my imagination-enhancing meds eventually wear off, or I finish the scene, whichever comes last. "Finishing the scene" means: adding the spur for the Dinky to the town, making a proper rendition of the Princeton Junction station, adding the rear passenger platform, and the near-side platform to a hip roof.
PS Chris: To answer your question, I spent a lot of time in New Jersey in the late sixties and early seventies stuck on and/or riding the sorry remnants of the PRR. I guess that made an impression.
John, I remember those remnants of the PRR in that era too. Riding the old rackety MU units in and out of NY Penn, back and forth to college on Long Island and concerts at The Garden. (Creedence, Grand Funk RR, Booker T, The Who, et al)
If you're hankering to do some catenary, we sure can use your help at the club!
Nice job and the scene fooled me too. Excellent Lego retaining wall, right!?
Superb!! Especially like those PRR hairpin style fence posts. Where did you get yours; i've gotten mine from Protocraft.
Again outstanding.

Some of the best modeling I have seen.
Period.

Excellent photo. It is hard to tell is a model scene. I used to ride this often years ago during the GG-1 era.
