GN - BN NW5 | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

CBQerOGR Forum Member DIGITAL SUBSCRIBER

I am thinking about bashing an NW5. I need an RS short hood and cab and an NW3 long hood. I did this in HO 40 years ago and was pretty pleased and think I want to try it in O scale. Ideas anyone?

Go for it! Sounds like a fun project. Do you want to work in metal or plastic? Not sure if the All Nation switchers are a good start, but you can find the shells fairly cheaply. In brass you might get some old Kemtron alco parts or maybe Weaver would be a good start if you want to work in plastic. For drive you could use All Nation, Central, or P&D.
