For once, somebody accepted responsibility for his actions, something becoming rare in our country. The penalty is unfortunate, but just.

it doesn't bring back the lost.
We can hope that this result will make others in the industry be more careful in the future. Financial fines don't seem to work very well as a deterrent, but when you start losing your freedom with prison time it makes a lot of us wake up and start taking it much more seriously. If that happens, the young lady's death will not have been in vain.

It looks to me as if he took the deal to keep his wife out of jail. I suppose that there is nothing wrong with this. I think she was equally guilty given her role as producer and owner.

Latest update on this case. The wife left a judge hear her case instead of a jury, and she received ten years probation.

Would it have made any difference if the production company had told everyone (including the young woman who died) that CSX had twice denied permission to film on the bridge and that everyone there was trespassing?
