Just set mine up today! No trains running anymore, this line is now abandoned

Here is the Halloween Village we setup every year, still trying to figure out a way to incorporate a train that works with the "theme" of the village. 

Jerry....that is SOOO COOL!!  I wasn't going to set anything up this year but maybe I'll do something small like you did.  #inspiration

Rixster, that's a very well done layout! While I enjoy the holiday, I haven't been much into Halloween themed layouts. Yours is quite impressive. I take that back. For a holiday-themed layout that is spectacular.

Halloween layouts

Here are my entries.  The wife, kids and I just put up ours this afternoon.  Its a mixture of Department 56, stuff purchased off the shelf from the home improvement stores and drug stores, and a couple of my kids Skylanders video game figures that looked scary enough.  The portals (what the Skylander characters are standing on) light up too which adds to the effect.  

I no longer have a Halloween train (maybe get another one next year) so we have the Halloween Pumpkin Heads rolling the Handcar around the village on an Atlas O Figure 8 track setup. 

I need to get a better camera so that I can get magazine quality night shots.

How did you get your you tube video to show up as a large thumbnail where you just click on it? I tried doing this by looking at the posting tips here on the forum, and could not get it show up correctly. I loved see all the pics.....great thread!

Just click the film icon, paste the YouTube link, then click insert. It will just be a yellow box until you actually submit the reply:

I don't use the "Add Attachments". I go to YouTube and call up the video. Then highlight and copy the URL at the top of the page - no right clicking. You don't need all the imbed addresses or whatever that come up, just the URL at the top of the page.

Then start your post - add some text first. Then click the film icon (between the smiley face and the pencil/notepad). Then just paste in the file/URL box and hit insert. You'll get the big yellow rectangle and that's it.

Very nice layout and video by the way.
