I just came back from a small train show in Gilbertsville, Pa. My first time there and I picked up a MIB K-line Earthmover construction scene. The action is the "earthmover" moving back and forth. The issue is the very small "earthmover" which looks like a cross of a front end loader with a snowplow attachment. I would like to replace the toyish OEM "earthmover" with a 1:50 scale front end loader or backhoe.Has anyone done this to this accessory or to the Dump Truck construction scene?

I have all of those accessories. There was a dump truck, grader and track hoe. On your model you must make sure the blade does not get caught in the groove the moving rod travels in or the motor will burn out. Don't ask me how I know that.
At the least glue the blade so that it cannot go lower than just skimming the ground.
The moving rod protruding through the groove engages a hole in the model and moves it along. You might be able to substitute another model but it would have to roll very freely.
The motors on these accessories are very small, hard to get at and not easy to replace.I've had a few go out. K-Line replaced them originally. Now ...who knows??
Good Luck!
