I've just noticed that AnyRail track planning software can create 3-D files with a "dae" filename extension. There is free software to work with "dae" files. ("Digital Asset Exchange" )

DAE files can be opened with Adobe Photoshop, Autodesk's AutoCAD, 3ds Max, and Maya programs, as well as the free and open source Blender tool.

 

I'm wondering if anyone here has used these "dae" files and associated software, and your comments about it.
