Yes, I almost forgot I ordered it, been awhile, I was also looking for the Spooky express caboose to. When it gets here it gets here.*
*So sayith the Yogeyman.
Not of last week as I have one of these on order from my local train store who gets their Lionel products from Emery Distributors of Easton, PA.
I also pre-ordered this cabin car. Certain regions have already frozen over awaiting its arrival.

Charlie Ro has an ETA to their store of 7/10/2015, which is also the ETA date of the scale flatcars w/piggyback trailers. None of these items have hit dealers yet, so it looks like they missed that boat out of China.
When they will arrive Stateside is anyone's guess, since Lionel doesn't even seem to know what they're receiving until containers arrive in NC. I don't even waste my time looking at the Lionel shipping schedule anymore. It's been indecipherably useless for the last few years.

To say the least! Waste of cyberspace.
We have been waiting a long time for the Pennsy N5B caboose indeed.

I have two of these on preorder and am pretty excited. These are expensive cabin cars (for me anyways) but I've been yelling for a N5 for a long time. However, I could care less about the smoke unit - something I'll never use.
I spoke with Lionel last week and they said that the cabin cars were "on the water." They expect to receive them this month and will ship them to the dealers immediately. The customers should begin receiving them sometime in September. I ordered mine in August, 2014.

Thanks, Lonnie. Been a long time waiting for this one.
It's odd, but this is the only non-brass N5B that I can recall seeing. It was a pretty numerous cabin car, too.

Thanks for the update Lonnie,
If I did not know any better I would have thought this was an MTH pre order.
I hope it makes it in September.

Can't wait for my LIRR! I heard from a good source that September is realistic.
Hopefully the PRR M1a freight sets are on the same boat....

I am told they are.

i hope that is true! Waiting has been difficult since the solo m1a shipped many months ago.

Me too.
Does anyone know what the hold up on the cabooses was?

The separate-sale GLa hoppers have also shipped recently, so perhaps the delay was indeed due to the caboose. Just goes to show how manufacturing delays out of China can throw a wrench in the works for sets containing multiple items. We've seen it a few times with passenger sets. And now this with a freight set.
I'm still holding out hope that Lionel will finally deliver a simple CSX box car that was catalog'd almost 4 years ago. And lots of stuff catalog'd more recently has been delivered already. So we can only wonder about these delays.

For what it's worth, I just received an email notification from Charles Ro about a package being shipped. It weighs 8.6 lbs. Things I had on back order were the N5b cabooses, the M1a freight set, and the B6sb, so hopefully it's one of those!
Wow, that's great! I ordered my N5b from Charles Ro too. I haven't heard anything yet though.
Charles Ro just told me that my N5b is due in on September 10th.
OK Lionel,
The MTH CA1 wood side cabooses ( I ordered the SP and IC versions) are on the way to me from the Nassau Hobby folks.
Where oh where is the Penny N5B?
You have lost the 2015 great caboose race to the market place contest
Richard
Charles Ro Train Shop billed me today for the N5b caboose. I called them to confirm that it had come in and they said, "yes", and it would be shipped out on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Picked two up today (PRR - PC) at the Train Station, Mt. Lakes NJ.
Very Nice!!!

I picked mine up yesterday at Grysbowski's in Scranton, PA.
