I know this will probably end up my fault. I put my RK Mountain on the three rail layout. It is fed by my TIU #4. All other TIU's are off. I tried to find the engine in my engine list and it's missing. I press read and I keep getting weird results?

The first time it found a lash-up in address like 99? Whatever address it was I deleted it. I then tried to add the engine. It says no engine to add?

So I press read again, This time it finds a lashup in address #88? Nothing else is on the rails BTW.

So this time I move the lash-up to address #89. I press read again and it finds that same lash-up in address #89?

Maybe this engine got lost or got deleted before? I will use the loader to see what address is on the board. Something seems wrong.

This is not the first time since upgrading to 6.0 first and now 6.1, that the read has not worked for me. Again it could be that I did something wrong with my housekeeping. I feel as though the DCS version is having trouble with TIU associations though.

I only report this in the interest of finding any issues that maybe out there. I know I can fix it at my end. It is like the fourth time this issue has bit me so I'm thinking maybe it's not just me?

Edit: maybe I found the first problem Somehow there's 2 TIUs with both at address #2.

So I moved the 3 rail TIU to address #4. Not sure now how to proceed. I need to re-add TIU #2?

I pressed read again and still no engine. The fact that it is missing from the remote should be my clue of something. I would not have deleted it on purpose.

OK Fixed!

The first two attempts at adding the engine did not work. The remote came back with no engine to add.

After switching the old TIU #2's address to #4, I tried to add the engine again. It took a long time and I walked away to come up and type. When I just checked, the remote now added the engine to address #81 and she works.

SO....... from what I now see, I have to blame problems on my having 2 TIUs with the same address in the same remote.

I think I got away with it in the past as these two remotes are far apart with the first #2 being used on my outside layout for G scale. I never run both layouts together. I never use this remote anymore on both my G scale and my O scale. A few years ago a friend needed a certain TIU for their club layout. When I replaced it, I did not add it correctly to my system. I got lazy and thought it would always be separate from the other one used outside. However the main remote that's used only inside, has some engines added for service while on my bench from both layouts. In a haste, I probably did not consider the use of that remote.

I just added a second mainline loop to my inside G scale layout. For the winter, I choose to bring in all the TIUs for upgrades. I ended up using TIUs inside that were previously only used outside.

So now I added the other #2 tiu back to the remote and everything seems fine.
