In the past, Ben Fiorello as been our scribe for the York DCS User Group Meeting and has down a fine job of taking notes and putting together a summary of the meeting for publication on the OGR Forum. Unfortunately, Ben will not be able to attend York this October.

However, Don Close has graciously consented to be our scribe and take notes during the meeting.

Many thanks to Don!

We still need a scribe for the York DCS User Group Meeting!!

If we do not have a scribe, there will not be a meeting summary posted on the forum.

If you plan to attend the meeting and have good note-takling skills, please come forward and help out. This is an opportunity to give back to the OGR Forum community and your assistance would be very much appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Barry,

Perhaps you don't need one. Here's why:

You can use your laptop with the latest version of Google chrome and a microphone (if your laptop doesn't already have one built in) to record your voice and have it automagically convert it to text.

Things you'll need:

A laptop (with built in microphone)

A microphone to plug into your laptop if it doesn't have one built in.

Latest version of Google Chrome installed: https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/browser/

Internet access

Once you have all the items above, go to this web page:

http://translate.google.com/

Look for the microphone in the lower left corner of the "text window" that appears on screen.

After you click the microphone, a small box will appear. Begin speaking.

Once you're done you can click "Cancel"

After you're done speaking, you can copy the text and paste it into your favorite word processing program.

Give it a try. Good luck!

CH

P.S. If that isn't possible, how about video recording it and posting to YouTube? I'm sure several folks would enjoy seeing anything you have to demonstrate.

CH,

I appreciate the thought. Unfortunately, that could be problematic with speakers who move around a bit, as both Andy and I tend to do. Also, it won't help to capture much in the way of statements coming from the attendees.

Regardless, it's not a bad idea and I may experiment with it a bit, although not with the meeting notes.

Thanks!
