I need to repair my Superliner 6-29168 with nonfunctioning station sounds and nonworking cabin lights.  My first problem is getting the body apart.  I am pretty certain the problem is a frayed wire for the cabin lights and I have no idea why the station sounds has quit.  But, until I get the body off I won't be able to diagnosis.  I have removed the body of my Superliner passenger cars so I know how to take the end caps off and remove the body frame and then remove the cabin but, on the diner the wiring appears to require me to slide the cabin and the body frame out at the same time.  I can only get it to slide about 2" then it seems to get blocked.  I have included a picture below and ask for any help you may be able to provide.

Good luck with your repair.

Same here as regards me. I have malfunctioning sounds in my NYC diner so I'll be interested to hear what you diagnose as the illness and cure!

Here is where I am - all connections checked, power to the board, antenna connected to shell.  No reaction to Legacy.  No sound at all.  Tried switching "program and run switch" back and forth.  I can not reprogram.  The shell is off the body, but the antenna is connected.

I am at the end of my ability to diagnose so I am thinking of removing the board and sending it to someone more experienced then I.  If I remove the board and send it out can it be diagnosed? I checked on parts and the motherboard and the Rail sounds power supply is still available.  The radio receiver is unavailable and the station sounds board is a "must call Lionel".

Any suggestions....
