I took out a good working PS2 3 volt board to try another one but the one i was testing had a big boy sound file so when  i started it up it ran really fast, i believe it was running fast due to the profile for a big boy but the turbine 6-8-6 has small wheels compared to a big boy engine. just wanted to make sure my thinking was correct,i read other forums for runaway trains which turn out to be a wrong sound file or the flywheel tape is the wrong one for the engine. just want to make sure the board is good as I'm going to put it in my big boy for the ps2 3volt upgrade anyway!

Sincerely thanks for anyone help that can verify the board is OK and only the sound file or tape is the reason the engine runs to fast, all other features are fine

thanks for any help you can verify

Is it just running at the wrong scale speed?  Is the speed still controllable from the remote?  If you crack the throttle and it takes off at full speed, that's a speed control issue.  Likely suspect in that case would be the tach sensor, flywheel tape, wiring, or an amp on the power supply board.

It's simple to load the correct sound file and see if that corrects things if it's just the scale MPH that's off.

John the engine runs fine with the other board that was in it and i can control the speed a little ounce you roll the thumb wheel above 2 it takes off fast bi it has the big boy steam file in the boards i was only trying to make sure the board works bu the engine I'm using is a turbine 6-8-6 which work fine with the other boards in it.the only reason i don't want to change the sound file is it is saved for my big boy upgrade.John do you think its a board issue or sound file. which is wrong for the engine it's in?

P.S. the only way to get it to slow down is go below 1 and then the engine will stop and if increase above 0 to another number it will start up again
