Thank you POPI, great idea and at a low cost, very useful
Thanks for the link, I will be using it quite often.
For strong easy to carry trays in which to store or transport rolling stock I use the low sided Costco produce boxes/trays, available free at Costco check out.
I hot glue cardboard divider walls and stack them as high as needed. Just right for 80' 0 scale passenger cars. A 18" wide roll of small bubble shipping wrap is available discount paper / party supply centers. NOT HD or FedEx!!! They are 4 times the price.
Tom Tee. The post is for miniature crates you make for the layout.😁

???????????????? WHAT?????????????????
The use of those Costco trays for storage also sounds like a great idea!
Wow. Great link, POPI.
Sorry guys, I went down the wrong aisle. We have regular merchandise boxes which assemble much like those in the link above.
i bought a huge amount of HO ties on closeout long ago and still sit down occasionally and make up some boxes or pallets. in 1:48 scale, HO ties are about the size of a 1x4 x ~4' (profile ties, not full ties)... a good scrap wood size.
some of the label bits might be a nice touch.
