My wife has one Southern Pacific Steam engine marker light. Just like this ones on the 2472. There is a small cast arm on it to change the color. That's all I know about it. She wants to sell it but where. E-bay doesn't have anything like it on their site, most of it is paper stuff and ash trays. Thanks for the help. Don

First, they are NOT "marker lights" mounted on the front of 2472. Those are class lights, and if you are trying to sell one or more, it is best to use the correct railroad terminology, so as not to mislead a potential buyer.
Second, if there are no railroad memorabilia shows.swaps in your area, which there probably isn't in Hawaii, the your only/best choice is eBay.

I'd include both the proper term - and anything else -close- you can think of - better for search results...nobody will be misled, since you have a picture...(they are worth a thousand words - or so I hear)
As we just saw in the original post - even enthusiasts don't know what some of this stuff is properly called.
You want to list in Collectibles>Transportation>Railroadiana & Trains>Hardware - or subcategory therein
Don,
Some can be found on Ebay.

You can also trying selling it on this site. I've used it a few times. The guy who runs it charges a minimal fee.
Search eBay for "Pyle National railroad light" and see what you find.

It comes down to "toy train/model railroaders" that continually refer to those lights on the front of locomotives, as "marker lights". Real railroad enthusiasts/collectors of railroad artifacts sure as the devil know the difference between "marker lamps" and "class lights"!

As far as I know - the money is all green...regardless of the buyer!

That has NOTHING to do with an incorrect description!
Call them "Class Lights" or Marker Lights. If they're listed on eBay, someone who wants them will recognize them for what they are...or what they want. It is not "misleading." It's train memorabilia! Matt

You want to get as many search hits from terms in your item title as possible - sometimes that means using terms that might not be quite right.
Like - "Switch Lamp" - or is it "Switch Lantern"? Are the colored discs around the lights called "reflectors" or "targets"?
I'd put ALL of those terms in my listing for maximum exposure via search engine...
Ebay is not there to educate buyers!
First question you'll receive may be, "What's the shipping to xxx, YY? What do they weigh? Know anyone coming to the contiguous 48 who could bring the class lights with them?
John in Lansing, ILL
It would have been helpful if the OP had taken the time to put a picture of the classification light with his post. People could see exactly what he's talking about. Someone reading this might even have had an interest in it.
