One of the couplers went bad on my lionel s2 switcher. Would not fire. A little troublesome on my main switcher. I finally started looking for something simple. I discovered a severed wire under the truck. Following this into the unit I first took off the body. Hmm, a mass of wires in a very small area. To replace the coupler to the board connection looked next to impossible for me. So I just read a post on the forum where the guy took off the trucks to do a two rail conversion. Now if I could do that maybe a splice would hold off a trip to a real mechanic. I put a short splice in with solder, then a small amout of tape to try to keep it modestly flexible. How long will this last? I guess we will see. However if the tape wears off will it cause a short and damage something? It was a bit tricky getting the spring back on correctly. Can anyone give me some thoughts how they may have done this? Thanks Bert
