Hi,

I'm new to the hobby. I did get an airbrush and have been playing around with it. I'm wanting to try my skills at some car model kits for practice.

What is the best way to shake paint? I did search and i am not finding what I am looking for:

i did read about putting some bb's into each color and hand shaking.

i have seen the people using reciprocal saws and a clamp. ( I haven't found a clamp that will fit into the jaws of a jig or reciprocating saw) can anyone tell me what they are using and how to get it?

the robart paint shaker ( heard this does work, but can shake the kid off and oh what a mess).  How durable is the robart?

Wanted people to comment and suggest.  I have nerve damage in my arm from a work injury ( which is partly how I got into the hobby ) so shaking by hand for long periods of time isn't really ideal.

I use a craft stick.  They sell them in boxes of like a 1000.  I am almost out the box has lasted me about 8 years.  I have painted lots of models and have never had a problem with paint.

You pour the paint off the top so the little that is left kind of thick at the bottom never is a problem.  It will mix in next time.

Pour the pain into your airbrush cup then thin with thinner.  Never had a problem that wasn't a mistake made by me.  Some times I thin a little too much sometime I don't thin as much as I should.  it has never been from not mixing the paint well.

By the way I use the stick I mix the paint with to mix the thinner in.

I've had great success first placing two small bb's or tiny ball bearing's in the paint jar, resuring lid tighly to jar, taping jar to a discarded jigsaw blade, attach blade to jigsaw, turn jigsaw on for 15 to 30 seconds and viola - paint's pigment uniformly, completely mixed and no paint residue on lip of bottle.
