Looks like Lionel could have another winner incorporating the Lion Chief into the M7 Batman Subway.  With 5 different "Batman" announcements.  This looks like it could have a lot of "play value".  A special Batman Logo remote!

Check out the new info page!

Great graphics on that link!

This would be god for my Elevated Line!

I wonder if it plays well with a Z-4000 transformer, the Conventional Classics line did not, inadvertant horn blasts: kinda like walking around at York.

Can you run it Conventionally without the LionChief remote?

I knew Gotham City was heavily populated but diesel subways?      Really?

I always thought they were electric!

You know, that third rail and getting fried!

Looks like no one who proofs this stuff has any clue...

BTW, I have my set and add-ons ordered already, so it better not have diesel sounds!

I am definitely getting this set.  A little disappointed at the announcements, however.  They could have had the original joker, riddler, and penguin sounds instead.  Maybe even some Nicholson Classic joker sounds or Catwoman meows.    The remote definitely looks cool.   I see Ro has it for $250.  Any better prices out there in Gotham City?

Rick

I'm sure licensing on those sounds were not possible or cost effective.

Man, I can only imagine the play kids are going to have with this set.  Very smart move on Lionel's part.  I can't think of another set where kids will create an entire session of play like this.  I'm sure Lionel will release figures with the characters.  Kids will stuff Batman and his nemesis in the train, have it run around a loop, stop at a station, the two characters get out and fight, etc.  It's exactly the kind of thing that today's kids need to be interested in trains.  So much more interaction and conducive to imagination than just watching the train go around the loop.

Very smart move by Lionel.  I think we'll be seeing this set a lot on public layouts and I predict a lot of people will be busy adding on a subway line either elevated or below their layout.

I really think Lionel is an a big roll right now with they are releasing.  I feel like there is so much energy into trying some new things to attract new customers while also keeping the old-timers very happy with what's being released for them.

Not sure about the size, but another readily available option for kids would be the Lego Batman figures.

This looks like this could be a fun set.  I'll be looking forward to the posted videos.

Here's another dynamic duo who were shocked that they were overlooked for this set.

There's EEEVIL afoot!  EEEEEEEVIL!!!

I'm waiting for the Larry the Cable Guy train set.

Because of the related licensing limits and costs, Lionel may not have the actual movie actor's dialog clip, but a good impersonator's version of characters might work ...especially if Lionel plans to later offer related add-on cars or accessories to get the most financial BANG/KA-POW!!! and studio movie release OOMPH!! from this licensing deal.

I hope Lionel replaces or corrects the engine sounds to a subway from the listed diesel.  A Lionchief Plus version would be my preferred choice for maximum utility.
