I don't understand what about 10 smph needs to be solved? Are you saying you successfully went through the Learn Mode steps programming multiple stations that were many feet apart...but this is what it does in Auto Mode?
if I set the speed higher, it does not go longer between each stop. thats the problem.

The speed does not affect the distance between each stop. The distance between each stop is set in the Learn Mode. I think you have a different problem. Are you confident you are correctly following the Learn Mode steps to set the distance between stops?
Did you buy this engine used? If you did, someone programmed a dopey auto mode script. If you purchased it new, it came from the factory with the dopey script.
Either way, the first thing to do is a factory reset: Menu/Advanced/Reset Engine/Factory Reset
If it's the first case, that will fix it. If it's the second case, you'll have to record a new script via Learn Mode.
