integrating DSC with Legacy -- maybe my expectations were too great

To start:

1. What transformer outputs are connected to which TIU input ports  ?

2. How is the TIU powered ?

3. What TIU outputs connect to your loops ?

4. Are your two track loops electrically connected or separated ?

That item number is proto 1, it will not respond to DCS.

If you turn the transformer handle and the engine goes "ding ding", its PS1 and will not do anything with DCS.

If its been upgraded at some point to PS2 or 3, and it only "clicks" when you apply power, then it should respond.

Try another locomotive.

@Boilermaker1 -- thanks, that explains it, but i love the engine anyway (it does ding twice when turned on) -- all the more reason to sort out my system so that i can run all three types

1. What transformer outputs are connected to which TIU input ports  ? --> posts 1 and 2 on the right side of the transformer (#1 to fixed input #1 and #2 to fixed input #2)

2. How is the TIU powered ? --> i purchased a 110 adapter

3. What TIU outputs connect to your loops ? --> the only ones that seem to work are the fixed outputs so i connected TIU fixed output #1 to loop #1 and TIU Fixed #2 to Loop #2

4. Are your two track loops electrically connected or separated ? --> the loops are isolated and before i added the TIU i could control each separately
