somehow my prior post got deleted, sorry for the redundency -- i added DCS TIU to my legacy layout (which worked great) - i have watched tons of Youtube videos on how to set it up but i am still confused -- i got my main line running through the TIU - legacy works fine -- i have a MTH EMD F40PH Diesel Locomotive MTH 20-21481p which says it is PS2 and I thought command control but the MTH controller doesnt recognize the engine (says no engine found / check track / no rf signal) -- but the F40PH runs fine conventionally.

When i plug the second loop into the TIU (direct in #2) it is still controlled by the Lionel ZWL transformer contoller #1

I am stumped (i am just learning this stuff so sorry for my ignorance) -- in my earlier post i was asked to post a photo of the TIU - attached here

Any advice appreciated

@Boilermaker1 -- thanks, that explains it, but i love the engine anyway (it does ding twice when turned on) -- all the more reason to sort out my system so that i can run all three types

@RichieC -- thanks

1. What transformer outputs are connected to which TIU input ports  ? --> posts 1 and 2 on the right side of the transformer (#1 to fixed input #1 and #2 to fixed input #2)

2. How is the TIU powered ? --> i purchased a 110 adapter

3. What TIU outputs connect to your loops ? --> the only ones that seem to work are the fixed outputs so i connected TIU fixed output #1 to loop #1 and TIU Fixed #2 to Loop #2

4. Are your two track loops electrically connected or separated ? --> the loops are isolated and before i added the TIU i could control each separately

thanks for any help

Steve
