It's a pretty safe bet your only going to get one version, not two like are depicted in the catalog (1947 and 1949). They will probably add traction tires to it like all the rest, hopefully, it will still have the nickel rim drivers. It will be interesting to see which version of boiler front they put on it, I would prefer one close to the original, and I also hope they don't use that plastic backhead cover over the motor! In any case, I pre ordered both sets. They will look great next to my 2131WS work train. I can't wait.

Now if only they would make a 224E/225E/226E set Big Grin ....sweet dreams on that though!!
The catalog drawings of the Conventional Classics series always suck me in to wanting one or all of them Wink However, I need some advice... I recently bought a Postwar Classics 736 Berk, and now wonder what difference in appearance there might be to a 726? Any advice is helpful. I did not pre-order, but believe if I choose to buy one of these sets, they will be easily found.

I am most likely going to buy a Conventional Classics 726 simply because of the impressive tender. I knew there was something distinctive in the illustration... now I know what it is.

Are you planning to buy the set or just the engine. I've ordered both sets but only plan to keep one engine. If interested you would be the purchaser of record with a receipt from a Lionel Valued Added Dealer and a one year warranty on the engine. I would think $100 ought to do it.

Agree with your dreams of 224E/225E/226E! Great engines and beautiful sets.
