It is time again for the Memphis Pink Palace "On the Right Track" exhibit. This year's exhibit will run for two weeks, starting today and running for 2 weeks. The exhibit will close on Saturday, October 25th .

The Casey Jones High Railers packed up our Modular layout on September 28th and loaded it up and moved to the Pink Place on October 5th.

It was a long day so we just set up the modules in there correct order. We had an entire week to set up the layout.

A bunch of worn out Casey Jones High Railers. Thanks to Mike's brother and his brother's friend. They supplied the truck and helped us oldsters move the layout. It would not have happened without their help.

Remember, the exhibit only runs two weeks this year. We hope to see all of our friends in the Mid South at the Pink Palace Museum.

Thanks for looking at the pictures and have a great week!

Thanks guys.

Alex,

That M1A is the one you worked on for me. It still had very poor TMCC eception. We were able to get it to accept its ID command and it started up. We just let it run, but with little or no control. It ran for at least 4 hours. As the day went on I was able to regain all of the TMCC functions. Amazing!I gurss it is just magic or maybe the Great Cowen was looking down upon the engine ! I wll let oyu know haw it does today after resting over night.

Thanks,

Richard

Richard,

That is a great layout your group of hi railers have.  I really liked the elevated city area and bridges across the tracks.  This is really nice you set up and have it open For that long!  A great thing to do for the kids!  Thanks for sharing all the photos.

i was in Memphis several times in the late 80s and early 90s passing through on our way to my in-laws' when they lived in Fort Smith, Arkansas.  It looked like a nice city from what I saw.  That's coming from a country boy too!

All,

I have been out of town this week, so I was not able to respond to your comments. We currently have 11 active members in the Casey Jones High Railers modular railroad group. We are located in Memphis, TN. Our group along with clubs in other scales set up an exhibit at the Memphis Pink Palace Museum each October The truck we used belongs to one of our members brother's company.

The Pink Palace Museum was a home built by Clarence Saunders of Piggy Wiggly grocery store fame. He lost his wealth n 1929 (I think). The home which was never lived in was donated to the City of Memphis and became a museum. The exterior of the home is covered in pink stone, and thus the name, Pink Palace.

Here are a few more videos I took with my iPhone last weekend. The picture is a little distorted, but good enough to see the trans on the layout. The outside line is running a MTH Erie Berkshire, the middle line is running a Lionel Pennsy M1a, and the inside line is running an Atlas IC GP9
