IT's TEAM TRACK TUESDAY!!!  Share with us your photos of what's being loaded/off loaded on your railroad's team track (s).

Team tracks are a vital part of day to day real railroad operations.  Practically every kind of freight car can be unloaded/loaded on team tracks.  Some head end cars of passenger trains can also be on/off loaded as well as MOW equipment.   Regularly changing the scene on our team tracks can be a way of keeping our layouts fresh.

Today on the Free State Junction Railway's team track in lower Patsburg, we have a Baltimore and Annapolis SW 9 which has just shoved a RF&P gondola with a load of stationary diesel engines onto the team track.  The SW9 is helping to position the BIG HOOK who will be doing the heavy lifting from gondola to flatbed trailer.  These stationary engines will run pumps at the Patsburg Water Treatment Plant.  They will replace the old stationary engines which were installed at the plant back in 1938.

No matter how simple or complex your layout might be, share your team track photos here!   Have a fun and creative week everyone!!IMG_2314IMG_2326IMG_2327IMG_2328IMG_2330IMG_2334IMG_2335IMG_2341IMG_2342IMG_2343IMG_2346IMG_2347

Hi Patrick. I like those diesel engines. Did you make them? I have need of one just like that for a future Team Track display

A couple of weeks ago the local rolling mill took delivery of some steel slabs...

G

This week, I got to the team track just in time as they were finishing loading steel coils made from those slabs...

Meanwhile, a deal maybe struck on the former Haney property as some prospective buyers are talking with the realtor...I wonder if they will need rail service?

Foot traffic near the team track is busier than usual this Tuesday afternoon. The Valley Railway just delivered its most unusual load since the beached whale carcass of 1920.

IMG_20170314_133512028_kindlephoto-134425028

It seems the great Chef Brockett may have misplaced a decimal point when making his usual holiday pie filling order.

The delicious delivery caused such a ruckus that Everett Police and Fire have been called in for crowd control. Botzum police are on standby if needed.

Happy Team Track Pi Day everyone!

Mark -  I love your back story and the story your photos tell!!!  I hope a new manufacturer purchases the Haney property and needs lots of rail service!  I really like how you are building suspense with this story!!

I bought the three diesel engines as a gondola/flat car load years ago and just came across them the other day as I was clearing/arranging stuff under my train table.  ( getting ready to sell some excess train stuff at an upcoming train show) As I go thru this clearing out process,  I'm finding lots of " new " stuff that I didn't realize I owned   Some of it will be helpful on the team track.

Happy Team Track Pi Day everyone!

Make sure you all click on the links Thomas has provided.  It will give you insight into some local history.  Currently these locations are part of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.  I actually live 300 feet off of Everett Road.

Team track is still quiet due to the CEO'S home improvement project.

Did manage to start the repairs on a future team track Loco. A Pensy 0-4-0 in need of some TLC! Look for it on SWSAT soon too.

Took the pick up roller from the tender and replaced the one missing from the loco.   Located the parts I need to fix the light in the tender. Once UPS delivers it will be working the rails and sidings.

Great photos this week everyone!!  The team tracks are busy!  Some freight car loads of humor and others of realism.  WOW such variety!!!

SIRT - Your brick load team track offering is awesome!  IMHO You chose the perfect boxcar for this delivery.  I'm loving the rusted roof spots plus the rusted brake wheel and grab irons.... very cool!  Your superb eye for detail with trash on the ground, straw inside the boxcar and the couple of remaining bricks left in the car is as real as it gets.  Perfect selection of truck as well.  Everything from the switcher setting out the car, with the brakeman uncoupling,  to the photo showing the empty load tells such a clear story.

Thomas - Your humor is fantastic!!  Love the photos and the story line. Lots of cherry pie to be made for sure!  Also I enjoyed your Blue Box Trains website very much!

Rich - nothing says fun like a boxcar load of Lionel Trains!!  Your truck and the two guys says it all .... Lionel = good times!!!

Mark - as I've said before your scenes are terrific!! BTW - has anyone heard from Mr. Haney?

RSJB18 -  Can't wait to see that 0-4-0 in action spotting cars on your team track.  Good luck with your house renovations!!

See everyone next Tuesday on the TEAM TRACK.  Have a wonderful and creative week!!

Patrick, Do you have track diagram of the The Free State Junction Railway, and any over all photos of the layout?  I really like the close up shots.

Smokie - Thanks for your kind words regarding the close ups!   My layout can't be photographed in its entirety with one shot, due to the room size/configuration.   I took these photos to give you an idea.  Read the captions by clicking on the photos at very bottom.   I do have a track plan which I drew up ( free hand ... as per OGR instructions )  for the OGR Magazine feature which was published in the last issue, however, OGR did not publish the track plan.  I'll try to locate it, take a photo, and post later.   Meanwhile I hope these photos will be helpful.  Thanks for your interest!IMG_2351IMG_2353IMG_2355IMG_2356IMG_2357

I'm catching up on prior TTT postings and stumbled on Thomas' pie filling post saga.  Ironically, just today I've been thinking about a scene at the Tomlinson Run Railroad involving Chef Chuck Wagon (your chef's twin, clearly separated at birth/girth) and some 1:1 scale food items.  But I was afraid the old carpet layout would look shabby (or should I say "shaggy"?) and the use of 1:1 items would push it over the top.

Thanks for proving me wrong! :-). I clearly need a few more figures and accessories but am newly inspired -- carpet and all.

Thanks!

Haha, It's great to know the challenges of life in the Valley have provided a little inspiration on the Tomlinson Run RR. I'm looking forward to seeing what Chef Wagon has on the menu!

My apologies up front for this being off topic:

RSJB18 - no email in your profile.  My friend just handed me his first train set to clean up and get running.  The loco is the 8506.  What is the source you used for parts?

Shawn- I found what I needed on evilbay and Amazon. I like to scrounge and search so I find what works for me. The light I put in the tender is sold as a LED replacement headlight, has the resistor and diode installed already. I bought the new pick-up roller for the tender but wound up not using it. I powered the LED from the loco and added a second wire to the harness.  Other than that the engine just needed a good cleaning and lubrication. best $25 bucks I've spent on trains in a while.
