Good evening all, what a great day I had today, and I'm so thankful for it. First I went to the New Jersey Edison Greenberg train show.  I met some awesome friends there.  From the NJ Hi-railers and the Mid America 3-Railers was Ben, Jim D., John S., Vinny, Chris L., and so many more. I also saw Sean from Doherty's.  We all had so many laughs.  After that, I purchased the new Lionel Thomas the Tank train set with the remote control for around the Christmas tree. I also picked up a 4pack and 2pack of Lionel Santa Fe aluminum passenger cars. Came home, opened everything up, set up the Thomas the Tank set and really enjoyed it.  Really nice set, worth every penny and it was packed so well - great job Lionel. Then I checked out these aluminum passenger cars, they are just incredible and the interior detail is just awesome. I consider myself very lucky to belong to a great forum like this and  have these awesome friends. This is my favriote time of the year and I thank the Lord for it.  Here's a few photo's of the Thomas the Tank set and the Aluminum passenger cars. What a great hobby.

Thanks to all, Alex

Great finds Alex!  The SF cars are VERY nice and I'm jealous!

We're off to the Mid America Train & Toy show in Kansas City in the morning and hopefully won't come home empty handed!

Must (SHOULD) curtail rolling stock and motive power acquisitions until the layout is done but who knows?  Running across gems like that.................

Have fun and thanks for posting.

Congratulations Alex. I hope that you will get lots of fun from Thomas. I'm sure that mine will be taking a turn or two at hauling the Polar Express around my tree layout this year.

Those SF coaches look absolutely magnificent. I can hardly wait for when you post a video of them on your beautiful layout.

Good morning all,

I thank you, Polarxpress3, Cliff, Jeff, and Nicole, for your kind words. I'll say it again this forum and it's members are great. I'm so lucky to be a part of it  and have you all as friends.

Jeff, we are putting up the tree today, I will shoot some video of Thomas later today go around the tree.

Nicole, There will definitely be a video soon of those passenger cars going around my layout.

Thanks again to all, Alex

Alex, great to see those SF aluminum passenger cars found a good home!  I think I know which dealer you purchased those from.    I was SO tempted to buy them at the Allentown show, but i've been on TOO large a shopping spree lately ... And we all have our limits.  It could very well be the same set from the same dealer, 'cause he very likely would have also attended the Raritan show.

Enjoy them!!!

David

Thanks, Dave1, Lee, and David, for the nice words.

David Rocky Mountaineer, this is a funny story, I saw them at the Allentown show on Saturday and didn't buy them. When I got home I said to myself, I should have bought them. So Sunday morning I called a fellow forum member who I knew was going to the show, and I said to him (Barry Schwartz) can you PLEASE pick these up for me. Without any hesitation he went right over to that booth and picked them up for me.Now it gets even better, He had no way to get them to me, so I called Ben from the NJ Hi-railers and asked him if anyone that lives in this area can bring them home.

Instantly he said Sean from Doherty's will gladly bring them home. So yesterday when I went to the Greenberg show they where there waiting for me. This is what I mean about a great forum and great friends (forum members) I'm so lucky to be associated with.

Thanks to all again.

Alex

Alex:

Great finds.  Even more interesting story about how the SF cars got to you.  Those SF cars are very nice.

Enjoy the holidays.

This train thing has me doing (a) more with my little girls as they like running them and (b) already has me wanting to get the tree up to place a set around the tree.  Normally, I hate doing (b) and delay as long as possible, so you and all the other folks are 'that inspiration' that you had no idea you were providing - well, I suppose now you do.

Regards.
