Carey,

just for the sake of conversation, I noticed your observation roof over the rear platform  is arch cut instead of flat cut (how A-Flyer) usually cut the rear platform end.

Just wondering if the observation roof is on backwards, swapped onto another car, or if none of the 4 are cut correctly for the observation car.  Just trying to figure out if Ives ever got any of the correctly cut roofs from Flyer, or if they were all coach roofs (arch cut on both ends)

Heres a picture of a flat cut “correct” obsv. Roof on a AF president car  for reference.

I love the Black Diamond. MTH has offered it with two different passenger cars sets over the years. Yes, I cheated, I bought the MTH/Flyer engine and later added an Ives tender so I could run it either way.

I do like the smaller windows, like the Flyer, much better than the version I have. You have to buy whats available at the time.

I would have to agree with you Carey. One of the nicest profile steamers and some of the nicest SG cars ever made.
