MTH makes a 2- bay fishbelly hopper model that is close to scale, except for wheels and couplers.  I convert all of mine to 2-rail and -- if not already done so at the factory -- I reletter them for the Western Maryland Rwy, which had thousands of them.  MTH makes the conversion much easier by providing a shim for mounting the K-D coupler at the correct height.  See the attached pictures.

I recently bought a set of six of these hoppers on ebay, but was disappointed to find that the shims were missing.  Each car needs two shims, which MTH packages in a tiny clear plastic bag and puts underneath the car in the Styrofoam box liner.  So, I need six of these little bags, twelve shims total.  I would be happy to pay $5.00, shipping included.  They should fit easily in a plain envelope.  If you have more than six pairs, I wouldn't mind having a few extras.

I don't know how one transacts business on the Forum, so let me know how this works.  Thank you.

Doug

By the way, here's a typical finished product:

Doug are you sure you need the shims ?   I use Kadee's also but in 3 rail. The shims will bring the coupler to the correct height with the 3 rail wheel sets. Usually the 2 rail trucks ride lower. At least with Atlas and Weaver. Seeing you have done some already  I'm guessing the hoppers maybe are different or the MTH 2 rail trucks don't ride as low like an Atlas or Weaver. Anyways I probably have what you need.  E mail  nyc_dave1948@yahoo.com    and I'll get them mailed out.
