K-Line, K3715 Chesapeake & Ohio Allegheny #1601 Steam Engine & Tender (2-6-6-6)
Hello,
I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction in purchasing (1) A new tender cable (The cable that goes from the tender to the rear of the steam engine) and (2) I was wondering if I could possibly retrofit a speed control into this engine so it would look more realistic. I am attaching pictures of the cable I am talking about!

Brassuer may have the harness. They bought out K-line parts when they went out of business. Also check Lionel website, they have some harness.
What is specifically wrong with your harness? Can it be repaired with a splice?
For speed control, you can find a K-line Cruise kit for your engine to add. Comes with a tach motor and the cruise driver. Pretty easy install. Did it for mine.
Or you can go the ERR Cruise M route and you will have back EMF cruise and do not need the cruise motor.

Does anyone know the part number for the smoke unit and fan motor or where they can be purchased?
Use a lionel or MTH motor for the fan motor. Element can be any 22-27ohm unit. Again Lionel has these. G
I have a 6 pin cable with 4 wires coming out of it, but no connector on the other end. I removed the entire K-Line dcru unit with horn and did a PS2 upgrade on the Allegheny. Real challenge, runs fine. Email in profile.

Is this the same kit as used in the Hudson/Mikado? If not what is the number for the kit for this engine?
