Early last month I had ordered the Lionel AA Milw Rd set from Charles Ro. After I received it I ordered the B unit. The B unit was ordered the Friday before Charles Ro had a Lionel open house sale. I emailed Charles Ro and told him that I got the AA set and just ordered the B unit. I asked if he could give me a break on the B unit because of the Lionel sale. He gave me another 10% off the B unit! He's got my business! Thank you again Charles Ro. MilwRdPaul

No doubt, he is the best..
I ordered a Lionel 27767 Santa Fe four pack of passenger cars on Thanksgiving Day. They shipped it on Friday and I had it by Monday.

Yeah, but if there are factory defects or flaws in any of the equipment you bought (through obviously no fault of your own), it will be on your dime to ship it back.

If you are a veteran lionel will pay the shipping.

do any mail order companies pay?
I have always been pleased with the service I have received from Ro over the past 30 years. I recently ordered a locomotive from them and they have e-mailed me to keep me up to date on the status of my purchase. I appreciate that.

I know one that use to. However, they retired two years ago.

Sure you can! Most folks recognize that this is the OGR forum, but some who may be lacking in social skills related to showing respect for one's host just tend to do their own thing. Whatever floats your boat!
I used to work at Kalmbach and still have friends there. I enjoy the friendly competition.
And Charlie Ro can put his advertising dollars wherever he cares to. We would certainly welcome him and treat him right (as well as save him a pile of money), but we're also doing okay without him.
Charles Ro is a real gentleman doing bussiness, 30 years ago I order a Lionel freight train and the brand new locomotive came defective right from the box, I phoned to Charlie about this issue and he resolved it right away, fast service, Thanks Charlie.
Charles Ro is a real gentleman doing bussiness, ... Thanks Charlie.
I'll echo that comment +1000. Charlie is a class act all the way. I've purchased from him since the late 1970's when the toy train dealer landscape had a VERY different look-and-feel to it. I'm sure Charlie and company have had to adjust to lots of changes over the years, but I'm not at all surprised that they've stayed the course so long.

When I think of Charlie Ro,one word comes to mind and that is honesty. In the late 80's I made a $1,000 purchase in the old Yellow Hall at York and paid Charlie with what I thought were ten crisp hundred dollar bills. Haven't seen many of those lately. Well, I digress. I walked away from his always exciting booth, thrilled with my purchase and Charlie came running after me and said I had given him eleven, not ten of those bills. Those bills were new and obviously they stuck together. I have never forgotten that moment. He could have easily pocketed that bill and I wouldn't have been the wiser for some time, if ever. So, while at York, a visit to Charles Ro Trains is always a must. Through the years, when at York or via mail order, there have been many happy days dealing with Charlie and I hope there will be many more.
