I recently received a new MTH engine from Pat’s Trains. When operating on my layout for the first time, I noticed amperage spikes as high as 7 and 8 when running through left hand curves. Knowing this to be an indicator of a short, I immediately contacted Pat’s and quickly received a return authorization and shipping label.

Pat received the engine late last Friday afternoon. By Monday this week, he had diagnosed and fixed the problem and had the engine coming back to me. I received it today and it runs like a champ!

While we all want a new engine to run perfectly out of the box, inevitably we on occasion receive one with a problem. The mark of an excellent train store with top notch customer service is fast response when notified of a problem then expedited repairs or replacement when the shop has had a chance to look at the engine. In this regard, Pat’s knocked it out of the park! This was five star customer service!

Had the opportunity to personally meet Patrick last July when we called in to his Wheeling W V shop, on our road trip across America. He is truly one of the last "gentlemen" in the industry, and he and his staff were so obliging and friendly.

Ended up buying a special run MTH beer wagon from him, and it now sits proudly in my freight yard, in my Aussie layout.

Can't speak highly enough about Patrick's Trains.
