Very nice; but my TMCC version of the L2a Mohawk will creep nearly as slowly as the

video loco ("El video loco! Telemundo!" ahem...sorry; high school broken Spanish strikes

again), and I seldom ask it to move -that- slowly.

I'd like one (Legacy), though. I'm hoping that Lionel will (can?) resurrect the

L3a (Pullmor) Mohawk tooling, put a proper can motor in it and offer that to us in

an up-to-date version.

The loco was at 5smph in the video and will crawl at 1smph. The great thing about the Legacy slow speed operation is there is no lurch or jump when the loco starts moving, it's so gradual.

That appears to be the bushing and secondary gear shaft of the " K Line style" gearbox as I mentioned earlier. I'm suprised to see it in this loco, but then again the extra gear probably allows for even better slow speed operation.

Despite the wonderful whistle, I'm on the sidelines.
C'mon Lionel . . . . . don't tease us.

Yes, it makes you wonder why we are not getting these added features that were introduced in the last couple years. It seems that all the train companies are having issues in China. No steam from MTH for a few years. Atlas not offering much lately and taking forever with the California Zephyr cars. GGD car prices going thru the roof, a year ago my SP daylight cars were $137.90 each. Now we are looking at $200 plus a car for the nnew offerings.

If these features are not offered in the next catalog it would be nice to know why. Hopefully they reappear. For now, I am OK with this Mohawk, my Vision Line Hudson needed something to pull freight next to it, although the Mohawk might get jealous that it has no swinging bell or whistle steam.
