Are all Legacy power trucks removed by twisting them 90 degrees? Is there a list or maybe certain years they were made like that? Hate to twist and break if you know what I mean. RICH

diesels only as far as I know.
be careful of washers and any other parts that will fall out.
Many work that way. Be careful the Lion drive coupling does not get lost. I like the system.
Another thing to be careful of is the connector on top of the truck. I've seen a lot of them damaged, some so bad I had to rebuild them.
John, what one are you stating?
The 4 pin connector on top of some of the Liondrive trucks.

John, I like the twist truck but am not a fan of the wire routing. The users usually ruin the connector you pointed out. For some reason some people kike to see how the trucks twist off.
The twist truck is fine, makes it much easier to remove them. That connector and the wire routing is just not optimum. As you say, the little Liondrive coupler sometimes takes a walk, I've had to replace a couple of those, It really doesn't go anywhere without it.
The twist off truck is a godsend compared to some of the trucks I've had to take off. I wish I could remember which ones are so bad, must be repressed memories
And I got the 500 posts award!!!!!

I really dislike the Lionel trucks that you have to split and the axle and wheels fall out and you have to align all the bearings to get them back together. What fool thought that up???
Theres another one thats just as bad. Elliot aka Big_Boy_4005 has a couple locos that getting the trucks off was a nightmare, possibly those TMCC SD40's
Thanks for all this info. Sometimes a relatively simple project can really cause nightmares. Nice to have your input and opinions ahead of time so at the least a person can go in somewhat prepared. I assume the power trucks that do twist off will twist easily. If not then they aren't. Thanks again. RICH
