Why not?  Seems like a pretty easy problem to fix if you're the owner.  To me Lego and trains go great together, especially for younger kids.  Think of a 7 year old who likes trains but doesn't have the ability or patience to model buildings or scenery.  They can build something out of Lego for the layout.  There are tons of good options in the Lego City collection.  Plus the scale is fairly close.

 

Lego is essentially entry level modeling.  Offer Lego as a gateway to the train hobby.  If you have the room, you could add a simple train layout and invite area kids to display their creations for a period of time.  Remember you are in the hobby business, not just the train business.

Charlie, the setup at the NMRA convention was much bigger than it looks in the pictures. The crowd was so big I couldn't get to all of the spots I wanted for better angles!
