My heart goes out to the children, their parents, and the teachers of that conneticut school. My thanks also goes out to all those who have helped to secure that schoole, and others in the area. And finally, my thanks to those who did try to stop this massacre, and did before it got worse.
A local radio host pretty well summed it up when he said that "once things got started, the only way to have protected those kids would have been to have armed and trained people already there. You can argue all you want about everything else, but that would have been the only thing that would have been effective enough." The real solutions to the problems aren't going to be found by arguing politics. The real solutions are going to come when we start listening to those with real-world experience with security matters.
Even though I understand perfectly that we an armed person is the only fast, effective, and practical defense against another armed person, I don't think this is an issue we can permanetly solve. If he couldn't shoot his way in, this guy would have just blown the building up. We are finding that he was smart, and knew exactly what he was doing.
What gets me though is that this is the worse king of evil. If you think about it, Bin Ladin was doing what he did for his God, Hitler didn't have to look the Jews being executed in the face like this guy did. And I can't think of anyone personally executing innocent children.
Crazy doesn't even begin to describe this shooter, he was beyond human, like a machine. No emotion, no pain, no empathy, nothing. He simply looked at children, and killed him. To me, he simply isn't human.
God, lay these innocent souls to rest and protect them for eternity. And punish this man for his sin, for he has no remorse, no regret. And send him to____, where he belongs, tis the best fate for him.
