Thanks guys! It really was a fun little project. I had the idea for a while, but only recently came across an 804 tank car that was rough enough to salvage the brass and copper parts. I have a bunch of M&M and other candy tins that may make good gondolas, just need some tinplate trucks.
i have a cruddy flat car i'd like to try this with. what did you use for the tanker lid?

Chinatrain99 - all of the parts were taken from the donor 804 tank car. I thought about a flat car, but the tank had all of the supports and brass, although a little smaller, but I think gives it some comical effect.
