There's a post going about how many engines posters have run.

I got to thinking that the limit has come up before. When you reach a limit in building a consist, the remote won't let you add more, if I remember correctly?

So I'm guessing the work around would be to use the all command?

Didn't Barry also post that consist member's could be multiple engines already entered into the remote to make the limit of 12 even higher?

All my multi power are builds with one address,no eng all command...i would have a mess if i used that I am tempted to try a 10 unit build

I recently went pacif mode (fixed one and two have there own Z1000 now but even with a single z1000 running 2 MU's pulling 68 cars total all ran well at speed.

My MU list: 6 unit (4 CSX GE six axle, 1 CSX SDMAC80 and 1 FEC SD70m-2

          5 unit ( 4 NS-all EMD six axle and 1 UP ES44AC

5 unit ( all EMD GP's in PanAM and Guilford

These units pretty much stay together although i will break off the lead engines to a siding so people can walk through the doors..(layout is on the floor of our lakehouse.

Video below is dated..i have since added more units and substituted RailKing for Premier units.

The limit is 10 DCS engines.

From The DCS Companion 3rd Edition page 103 and The DCS Wifi Companion 1st Edition page 89:

Up to 10 DCS engines can be members of a lashup. Regardless of how many DCS engines are included in the lashup, one engine will always be the head engine, another will be the tail engine and up to 8 additional engines as power in the tracks can support may be designated as middle engines. A DCS engine may be the member of more than one lashup, however, only one of the lashups of which it is a member may be operated at the same time. Each lashup will have a unique DCS engine ID#.
