If anyone is interested, I want to sell my Lionel Classics  #115 Repro station from the early 1990's my e-mail is in my profile.

I, too, inherited my uncle's 115 Loonel statoon which was in the attic for many years. It was in excellent condition, not new like yours. Needed to cleaned up. I was just to get it knowing they go for about $300 in the condition I stated it was.

    Yes, there are Prewar and Postwar versions.  The difference is determined by when facing the front of the station, with the two lights on sides of the door.   The Prewar version has the hook-up terminals on the left side, the Postwar version has the terminals on the right side.   I read this sometime in years past, and it has proven to be correct for me when looking at/ purchasing 115 stations.

Looks original to me as well; I've never seen a repro with a "Made by Lionel" stamp on the bottom. Very nice.

You could look at the brass bases of the two light bulbs. If they are stamped "Mazda" they are prewar. Mazda was the marketing organization for light bulbs with tungsten filaments. The patens on the tungsten filaments ran out in the late 1930s and Mazda was abolished.  Lamps with out Mazda stamped in the base are probably postwar. 

I don't think light bulbs are a good indicator. They burn out and get replaced. It is also my impression that Lionel had prewar street lamp bulbs on hand well into the postwar period. How often did GE make a run of them?
