I just inherited a Lionel 115 Station in mint condition. My question is whether this is an original from the 30's or a reproduction which I believe Lionel made some in 1947. I have the original shipping box but can't make out a date because it's very old. I have included some pictures if that would help to identify the date of this Station. It's really in beautiful condition.  I would appreciate any comments.

Thanks,

George,

Yes, there are Prewar and Postwar versions.  The difference is determined by when facing the front of the station, with the two lights on sides of the door.   The Prewar version has the hook-up terminals on the left side, the Postwar version has the terminals on the right side.   I read this sometime in years past, and it has proven to be correct for me when looking at/ purchasing 115 stations.

Hope this helps.  Yes, you have a very nice 115 station there, sir.
