I was wondering where the lionel 156 platform gets its ground from, can it be wired in parallel?

The 2 clips on the bottom are the connections one on each roof support post. Yes you can wire them parallel with 12-14 volts.
Thank you,for some reason I thought they were both power and shared a common ground.
If the 156 is constructed the same way as the 157, the common lead, in this case the series connection between the lamps, is a metal bar that runs under the roof. To wire the two lamps in parallel, you would need to install and attach a common wire to that metal piece, and hot to both of the two connectors on the base.
Is there some reason you feel that you need to wire the lamps in parallel?
No,I was going to hook 3 accessories together and did not want the old Christmas light thing to happen, one goes out they all go out. Thanks for the info

The 156 gets wired in parallel to the other accessories, not in series. A bulb out on the 156 won't affect the other stuff.
