 Hi guys,

I was trying to restore my 182 Crane and as you can see by the pictures are broke both wires that wrap around the motor coil. I have no idea how to resurrect these things to get the motor working in both directions. Can you please help me with repairing the wiring and how to find the correct one in the coil Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you, Jerry

If you look carefully, there are actually 4 wire ends coming off of that field winding - your picture shows two soldered together as they should be. The other two are for left-right operation. If you can solder in flex wire extensions to the other two wires while losing as few windings off of the field as possible you can reconnect the flex wire to the terminal board for connection to power and the controller. The shellacked coating must be mechanically removed from the wire ends before soldering.
