I use a 14vt bus to power all my switches. what voltage bulb would give me the best service in these switches, 6, 14, or 18vt. The bulb Lionel recommends in the directions is not listed anywhere, and does not show voltage.

The 6 volt bulb will burn out immediately. The 14 volt bulb will glow brightly, and the 18 volt bulb will be somewhat dim.

8352-311 is the lamp you want.
The Lionel Part Number is 6123011311 for a 14v lamp.
If you power with 14V, I'd consider the 18V bulb. It should be plenty bright for the task, and it will last a lot longer.
Thanks for the follow up. As noted, Lionel recommends 612-3011-311, which I could not find anywhere. Some vendors show 6SP5014311 as a substitute, but that is a 6vt bulb. Based on your feedback I'm going with a 18vt substitute.
Be cautious! Lionel has changed part numbers. the 612-3011-311 bulb used to be rated at 18 volts in the early days of the 3010 O gauge switch. Now the stock of 3011 bulbs are 14 volt rated. Ask Jeff if his bulbs are new stock or old. The new 8352-311 bulbs (with a black adapter) are rated at 16 volts, while old stock of the same bulb with the old white adapter are 12 volt rated.
