Now when you add the tanks, sponge and cylinder it will look complete and brand new.

Yes, I have them - bottles and pads - found on the Bay. Now for the cleaning solution - much has been written in a few threads:
Fantastic, 409, mineral spirits, isopropyl 91, and on the Bay: Ultra Pure, Bachmann, and Aero Car (lays down a non-slippery conductive film that will improve current flow). Leaning toward 1 of the latter 3.
Don't use mineral spirits or alcohol, it will discolor the orange plastic, (ever notice the while patches in the spare wiping cylinder compartment?) That and with the large surface of the sponge, it presents a fire hazard. Use 409 or Fantastik, that's what Lionel used.
Thanks Chuck!! Will keep away from stuff that messes up the finish or burns; seen many faded ones on Ebay.
Anybody on the forum ever use the Ultra Pure, Bachmann, or Aero Car?
